Select the language and country for your new localized sitetree. The template to use is always 'full' and the page name and URL slug can be typed in.

Go to /dashboard/system/multilingual/copy or click the 'Copy Languages' link in the dashboard panel on the right, if you are already in the multilingual section of the dashboard. Select which sitetree to copy and where to copy its pages to. In our case the english sitetree is the source and the copied pages will be placed under the french home page. To start the copying process click 'Copy Tree' and let the process finish. You can check the new sitetree in the sitemap by selecting the french localization.

Go to /dashboard/system/multilingual/translate_interface to see your installed interface languages. The new dictionary is not yet loaded, that is why it shows 'File not found'. Click Reload strings to refresh all your current text strings and express values and save them to the new dictionary. You should see the empty bar of the new dictionary now filled up to some value below 100%. The missing entries are values from your content.

Select the freshly copied language tree to be translated. Select a source and target language and hit translate. All the pages in the selected tree will be translated to the target language.

When the process is finished, you can go to the Sitemap and select the french localization. The pages, their names, descriptions and editorial blocks are now translated. Click any editorial page to check the translated version.

The newly translated pages work just like any other ContentCrank page. The only difference is that the AI translation added a new a version with translated text. That means you can check the first version to see the untranslated text. However editing is a breeze as usual. Click the gear icon in the top left corner to open the composer and edit all fields for this page.

Go to AI Translation and scroll down to Interface translation. Express data is separated from page and block data and works a little different. The good thing: no copying is necessary. Just select source and target language and click Translate Interface.
Every express object retrieves its localized strings from a central dictionary file. If any express related values or names have translation errors, you need to search and edit the translation in the interface translation dictionary for this language. If a value or name is wrong in the original language, you need to edit the express entry or entity itself and update all dictionaries.

The first translation processes for new language can take a few minutes as there are a lot of new pages and entries to translate. The currently available AI Models answer one request at a time and that can take a while for a few thousand requests. Best go grab a coffee or open a new window/tab to keep working in your ContentCrank.

Navigate to any Express content page to see the translated strings. You will probably recognize some weird Express values and names. Depending on the AI Model and training data used the quality of translations and frequency of errors can vary with each translation. Most wrong translations happen with very short text strings and values which carry very little context. Anyway it is easy to edit and resolve the wrong translations.

Go to /dashboard/system/multilingual/translate_interface to see the installed dictionaries. After running the AI interface translation the dictionary should show 100%. To edit a wrong translation click the pencil icon on the right side of the dictionary row.

Type in the source string or the wrong translation in the filter bar on top to find the corresponding dictionary entry. Select the entry in the left panel to edit its contents on the right panel. On top of the editing panel the original string is displayed. You can edit the translation string on the bottom of the editing panel. To edit the original string, you must edit the corresponding Express Entry or Entity and translate again. You can resolve the wrong translation easily by just typing in the name since it does not need a translation. The screenshot shows an entry where a very short string and unusual name caused the AI to fail partially and say sorry instead of translating or returning a real error.

Click the Save & Continue below and when you are finished with editing translations ALSO click the Save to file button on top of the window before leaving the page. A notification will inform you when the new file is saved.

Go to an Express list page and switch the language to see the edited translations.
